2008 Camp: ATA & UTC Legends

The tradition continues! Once again Tang Soo Do Training Camp was held at Camp Lyndon in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Once again, the weather was perfect, and the Tang Soo Do was even better! The camp theme was "training with the LEGENDS," and there may never have been an event which better justified its theme. Saturday morning featured instruction by the Iron Man of Karate, Grandmaster Richard Byrne, and Jujitsu legend Professor Dave Castoldi. Sunday morning classes were taught by the legendary "greatest fighter in karate history," Joe Lewis, and the incredible Grandmaster Dominick Giacobbe. Each is a legend, and not just for his own Martial Arts prowess - each is also legendary for his ability to teach, to pass on the knowledge accumulated over a lifetime of study and hard work. Needless to say, it was an illuminating experience for everyone who participated.

In between the seminar mornings, there was a lot of Tang Soo camaraderie, playing in the lake, good food, good discussions, and an enlightening question and answer session with Grandmaster Giacobbe. And oh yes, there was also the spectacular Saturday evening Masters Demo. Given the teaching that was shared, you'd think it would be hard to specify anything other than the seminars as being the "highlight" of the event, but the Masters demonstration always makes a case.

The following video shows Master Penny Mitchell performing O Sip Sa Bo at the Masters demonstration.
